If you think about it, these lines seem to be a little contradictory in nature. Carl doesn't want to be called a "beanie" and yet he's willing to be called a "Brooklynite" even though he's not in Brooklyn anymore? Why does he get to be a "Brooklynite" but Annie doesn't get to be a "beanie"?
